Trees are one among the most important and valuable plants in our ecosystem. However, sometimes they can be dangerous due to poor placement or other conditions. Overgrown trees can pose a threat to people, property and other structures.
These are three key signs to look out for when you need to contact a tree-surgeon.

The tree is dying

While it may not be obvious when a tree begins to die, it can be quite dangerous. There are some signs you should look out for: cracks in tree trunks, decay, or branches falling apart. This could be due old age, disease, or simply because the branches are becoming weaker. There is always a risk that someone will get hurt or property damaged.

The tree is too large

An overgrown tree or shrub that is obstructing your home, or growing into your road, may need to either be removed or cut back. Allowing a tree to get too big can lead to serious structural problems.

You have a diseased Tree

Trees, like all plants can be infected. The tree’s leaves, branches, and trunk will likely change when this happens. Although not all damaged or dead trees need to be removed, it is possible that the only way out is to remove the tree. A professional tree surgeon High Wycombe will give you the best advice.

Tree Trimming Reasons

Do you have trees that could be felled on your land? You may have come across trees that you could use to make firewood. You should not burn it if you come across any trees that could be cut up for wood. The green wood may cause problems in your house and won’t burn as well.

First, make sure your firewood has been properly dried. Seasoning is also known to let the wood dry for enough time before it can be used. Even if you are buying firewood from someone else you need to ensure that it is dry.

Curing your firewood

You can leave logs to dry out in a dry environment for a while, but it’s faster and easier to break them up. This means that you’ll have cut the logs into reasonable-sized pieces. Then, cut each piece lengthwise to get several pieces. These will be your firewood.

To make this process easier, you might want to buy a wood splitter. This machine will do all the work for you. You can also cut wood with anaxe, which is a great exercise.

You will need to stack the wood properly once it has been split. This will ensure that it dries evenly. Airflow should exist around the wood, which is difficult to achieve if it’s just piled up in one giant stack.

How to store your wood stove

First, you need a rack to hold your firewood. There are many options on the market for racks, but you can also make your own by using concrete blocks and laying a couple of 2x4s on top. This will create a higher area to stack the wood.

Now place the firewood rows parallel to one another facing the rack’s front. Next, place the second row parallel to each other. Continue stacking, leaving little space between each piece. This will allow air to still flow over the pile. This will dry the wood over time.

The wood should be as dry as possible. It won’t heat up well if it is moist. If the wood is too damp, the heat must evaporate and remove the moisture before it can heat the space. If not removed, the moisture may cause a buildup in the chimney.
