A semi-permanent tweakment is a safer option as the UK laws are becoming stricter for injectables professionals. Profhilo is a great alternative to botox, fillers, and other injectables.
Profhilo, a brand that is known for its ultimate glow giving properties, can be described as a super moisturizer for your skin. Profhilo does not alter the shape or relax your muscles with botox, but delivers deep hydration for your skin. This will help you plump and moisturize your skin.
But what is it exactly, you ask? But what exactly is it and how does it affect your health? Profhilo was discussed by two of the top experts in the beauty field, Dr Wassim Tauk (Aesthetic Physician) and Dr Stefanie W (Cosmetic Dermatologist).
Everything You Need to Learn About Profhilo Newcastle
What is Profhilo, you ask?
Dr Williams says thatProfhilo(r), a ‘beneath your skin’ hyaluronic Acid (HA), moisturising treat, delivers HA deep into the skin, more than any topical cream HA serum can. Dr Taktouk adds that Profhilo(r) contains 62mg per 2ml of syringe pure hyaluronic. It targets multiple layers of the skin to restore firmness. Tone and elasticity are restored at levels that can’t be achieved with just the application of skincare products on the skin.
What is Profhilo’s performance compared to other injectables.
Although Profhilo falls under the injectable category, Profhilo can be used for a completely different purpose. Just as fillers and Botox have different ingredients and serve different purposes, so is Profhilo.
Dr Williams says that Profhilo offers a gentle, regenerative procedure, that is not as harsh as wrinkle-relaxing or dermal botox. These treatments add volume/contour and relax the facial muscles. Profhilo should not be viewed as a substitute for fillers and Botox. It can be used alone as a great option for younger skin types that do not require other cosmetic injectables. It is very popular because the results will look natural.

How does Profhilo operate?
Apart from injecting a hyaluronic-based formula into your skin, what does Profhilo actually do to modify the structure of your skin and texture? Dr Williams says Profhilo(r), which is injected directly into the skin, “moisturises” your skin from the within. The stimulation of collagens, and elastin was also demonstrated. Stabilised, HA products have more activity than non-stabilised, such as mesotherapy.
What are the advantages of Profhilo on your skin?
Profhilo can be considered the ultimate step of your skincare routine, as it is the only product that will change your face’s movement and shape. Botox fillers and fillers may help. Dr Taktouk explained that Profhilo works at multiple levels to produce its desired results. At the deeper levels, it provides structure and support to skin and hydration. This gives skin its bounce as well as plumpness. The surface results in a healthier complexion with a better texture and tone.
Let’s talk about it!
Some needles will be involved. But what exactly are they and where are they? Dr Taktouk explained what happens in a Profhilo appointment…
1.Consultation
‘In order to make sure that our patients are suitable for treatment, we first consult them in our clinic. We discuss with patients the potential side effects of Profhilo as well as the specific benefits they might enjoy. We add to our discussions by providing written information. Patients are offered a follow up appointment for treatment. This is a time for patients who are new to the treatment, and allows them to think through their options.
2. Before The Treatment
On the day of treatment, patients are welcomed to the clinic. A consent form is also signed. Before patients are allowed to enter the treatment room, they are photographed of the area being treated and added to their medical records. Once you are comfortable, we take a look at the area to be treated and make note of any visible blood vessels or areas with unhealthy skin. The skin is then washed with an anti-microbial cream.
3. The Injections
Once you’re satisfied with your skin, and it is dry, you can start the treatment. This treatment involves 5 injections on each face: one in front of the ear and one on the cheek. The angle of the jaw is below the lower lips. It’s 10 injections all together. Each injection takes approximately 5 seconds. Gauze is used to cover the injection sites. If needed, the area can be cleaned with an antimicrobial solution that also contains arnica.
“To help reduce discomfort, we have a couple of methods. One is to place a vibrating tool onto the skin and another on the patient’s wrist. The vibrations can be used to distract from pain and reduce discomfort.
4. After The Treatment
The patient is instructed to avoid touching the area and applying make-up for at minimum 12 hours. Once that’s done, you can go back to your normal routine. For 48 hours aftercare, the patient should not take any medication, exercise excessively, or consume alcohol as they can increase the risk for bleeding.
5. Follow up Treatment
Each Profhilo treatment consists of two parts. The second is usually administered around one month after it.
Does Profhilo hurt?
However, numbing creams can be used by some clinics. They can make the appearance of bruising worse. That means that 10 injections to the forehead is going to work a little.
Dr Taktouk said, “If it were me, it hurts.” The needle is tiny and it is the actual product that stings when it is injected. Each injection takes less than a minute. To reduce discomfort, we use distraction techniques. It’s not enough to dissuade patients from coming back for additional treatments.
How long does Profhilo need to be at work?
We recommend two to three treatments spaced one month apart. Dr Williams states that this will make your skin appear plumper, more hydrated, and younger looking. Dr Taktouk is also in agreement. “Many people see a significant improvement in their skin within one week.” The true results of treatment will only begin to show around the 6-8 week mark. This is because collagen and elastin take time to develop in the body.
How long does Profhilo actually last?
Dr Taktouk recommends that you continue the treatment six months after the two initial treatments. The results should last that long. Patients may notice a change in their skin’s texture towards the six-month point. Some patients also notice a decrease in the appearance of their skin’s brightness. However, others are happy to come in earlier than that.
Who should get Profhilo and who shouldn’t?
Dr Williams says Profhilo(r), a great product for moisturizing the skin and helping to repair damaged skin. The end result looks natural. Additional treatments may be required for people with more severely damaged or older skin. I wouldn’t recommend cosmetic injections to anyone younger than 25 years old, unless they have smooth, young skin.
It’s important to mention that Profhilo is not appropriate for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Profhilo works on all skin types, and even skin tones.
Dr Williams states that the treatment can be used on all skin types, regardless of gender, skin tone, and age.

What can Profhilo’s do?
It’s important that you manage your expectations when looking into injectable treatments. Find out what it won’t achieve and what it will.
Dr Taktouk states that Profhilo can’t fill in any specific areas, and won’t be capable of erasing deeper lines. It can’t even be used in the forehead. This is important for anyone considering using it to treat dry skin and fine lines on the forehead.
What’s the downtime for Profhilo?
It’s reasonable to wonder how many injections you’ll need in your face after the procedure.
Dr Williams states that while there is generally no downtime after an injection, you might experience some redness and bumps for about one hour. “Occasionally, bruising can occur.

Can Profhilo go wrong?
Injectables may seem scary. It’s understandable. Dr Williams states, “Injections can have risks but Profhilo is comparable to low-risk treatments if performed by an appropriately qualified practitioner.” Profhilo, which is extremely soft and produces natural results almost without any risk, is a safe option.
