Residence halls for students are the primary option to students beginning their university journey. The majority of first-year students opt for halls of residence at the university, however, private residences are often used by international students and for postgraduate accommodations.

In this article, we look at the different private accommodation options for students and examine them in comparison to student halls. We also explore what to be looking for when choosing accommodation for students and how renting with us could be an excellent option if you want to live somewhere that is more comfortable than the university halls for your time of study.

Student accommodation options

University halls are a wonderful alternative to a place to stay for first-year students seeking a social experience while away from home. Since first-years may not have made friends prior to arriving in a new city, university housing can be a great choice for making new friends right starting from the first day. In halls for students you’ll have your own personal space. Still, you will have shared areas with other students, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and a communal area and you could share up to fourteen other students. It can be thrilling or even a little overwhelming. Another form of accommodation managed by universities is private halls. These are different from the residence halls. Students from postgraduate and international universities often opt for private halls because there are options for quieter and less private life.

On the other hand private sector accommodation is different from halls of residence and private halls in general. This purpose-built student accommodation can offer a greater variety of accommodations options, such as a one-bedroom flat or shared.

Certain students, particularly those in second and third grades, prefer to live in student apartments after they leave student halls.

Accommodation at university is affordable and easy option for first-year students who want to socialize with new acquaintances. Students will be automatically guided to lease residence halls accommodation upon registering for your first semester at university. Student residences are usually close to one another and many students will live in the same building which can be great to socialize in. Additionally, you may opt for a hall that caters to alleviate stress when it comes to meal times. You could also select an en-suite bathroom for greater privacy, though it’s not always guaranteed.

Student rooms aren’t ideal for everyone. Student rooms tend to be smaller and generally less modern than private student accommodation Loughborough; many also have only one bed. Furthermore, you’ll not be able to choose who you live with or the number of individuals you share a room with.

Why should you choose student halls

Student halls are perfect for students who want to experience all that university life offers and more, such as sharing their first place away from home with other students. There is also the option of living in a community of students with your classmates right around the corner. Of course, the price for student halls is usually lower for first-year students. Moreover, they are an affordable option to live in as your institution typically handles everything when you enrol.

Private accommodation

Private accommodation allows you to either live on your own or together with other people. The main benefit is that student housing that is specifically designed usually have higher-quality facilities that offer more space and comfort than the student halls. These are usually situated in a central location and are close to your campus. It is possible to guarantee the type of space you need, for example, en-suite studio, apartment or studio. Charges are typically included in private accommodation that is why you can budget your monthly expenses. Finally, private rented accommodations offer more security and privacy as compared to University halls.

While private accommodation has numerous advantages, it could be more expensive than accommodation offered by your university. You’ll need to put the search for accommodation on your own. There is always the option of shared living or a studio, which could be more affordable for students looking to save on living expenses.

Why should you choose accommodation for private students?

Private student housing could be the ideal option for those who are looking for more security. There are a wider range of living choices; it is possible to choose shared or solo living and an en-suite bathroom, a one-bed unit or studio flat. If you are seeking comfort in your student accommodation, many have one or two beds, a 3/4-sized bed in every room, high-speed Wi-Fi and in-building amenities such as movie rooms, communal rooms and games rooms.

Private accommodation is usually situated in the city centre, close to campus buildings which means it could be more convenient for students particularly at city-based universities.
