With constantly evolving market trends, Google’s fluid algorithms, and the changes in the way people seek information, you may be wondering how many people search for blogs?

The answer, naturally it is yes!

According to a recent survey conducted by HubSpot the HubSpot, 60% of the population read blogs on the internet. What’s the reason? What exactly are they seeking to accomplish through taking a look at these books? In the study there are three main reasonsthat we’ll be discussing in this article. We’d like to move it up a notch and provide you with a couple more things we’ve discovered by listening to our readers and web site users.

Five Reasons Why People Read Blogs

They want to learn something Different

In today’s DIY world there is a common thing that internet users are searching for is advice on how to complete something. Perhaps they’re looking to build their own kitchen cabinets or maybe they’re looking to learn how to market their business (that’s likely the reason that you’re reading this!). People are looking for information about something.

Blog posts that aid users in a particular direction, including videos of tutorials, information or simply provide a new idea is the kind of posts that get a lot of search engine traffic.

The content doesn’t have to be a manual with detailed instructions. They could simply provide detailed information about things, thus giving readers information they didn’t already have. People want to know more.

They want to be entertained

Everyone is looking for entertainment. This is the reason we have TVs, video game systems, and even computers for some (when they’re not in work or in school). Reading is a fantastic way to entertain yourself. Particularly when the subject is fun or interesting.

In actuality, in times of boredom, you might discover yourself first looking for a specific subject. You may be reading about it, becoming attracted by a particular subtopic on the blog, and researching further about it, until you’re far away from the topic you started with, you’re not sure the way you came to this point. “Going down the rabbit hole” is what my friend Valerie describes it (and she frequently does it! ).

They want to research their Industry

Take a moment to think about the reason why you’re here. Perhaps you’re a company seeking marketing advice. Perhaps you’re a fellow marketing professional. Or maybe you’re Valerie thinking about why I mentioned you on this blog. If you’re among the two mentioned above you might be conducting research in your industry. In this case, you’re in marketing. It is a constant change in trends that we need to keep up to date within our field, and we certainly have to!

However, it’s not limited to marketing. If a person who reads this blog owns a painting business it is possible that they will be reading blogs on paint industry trends, the latest developments in different paint types and other bits of information that can assist them in managing their business.

People are curious

Many blogs are not looking to market something. Actually, blogs of companies that sell products usually have a nice mixture of non-business-related topics too (if they’re doing things right!)

A lot of people use the internet and read blogs including gistfocus in order to satisfy their interest. People are fascinated by an insight into another’s life. The blog reading experience is similar to getting a glimpse into the personal journal of someone else. It’s true that it’s strange. But isn’t this the same motive behind watching movies and TV shows? In order to feel that we’re looking into another person’s world, whether it’s authentic or not.

People want to connect and Feel Like They Are Part Of Something

Personal connection can be missed when you’re having a drink with friends or via the telephone. Engaging with blogs, reading them, engaging with them, making a post and expressing your opinion These are all activities that can create a personal bond.

It’s not just intimate, but people want to feel that they’re not on their own. They might have started by searching to find someone else experiencing the same issues as they’re experiencing. Being able to find someone experiencing similar issues creates the feeling of a personal connection as well as a feeling of belonging.

Although these are only five of the reasons why people use blog posts, they have many other reasons. It’s a trend that won’t be going away anytime in the near future. Have you taken a moment to consider why you’re reading them?
