The M65 westbound carriageway reopened just before 1.30am this morning after a car had earlier overturned. The incident took place between J10 and J9, causing one lane to be closed along with the J10 entry slip road.
Emergency services and police attended the scene while recovery of the vehicle took place. It is unknown if there were any injuries sustained.
Delays are clearing well in the area, with police initially advising motorists to allow for extra time if they are travelling in the area or to seek an alternative route.
The National Highways: North-West tweeted about the incident at 12.03am on Sunday morning saying: “Traffic is currently stopped on the #M65 westbound between J10 and J9 due to an overturned car. The entry slip road at J10 is also closed. Emergency services and Traffic Officers are on scene. Delays building on approach. Please allow extra travel time if in the area.”
