Ian Poveda believes his performance for Blackburn Rovers in the win over Sheffield United was a ‘special day’ for him which the Leeds United loanee had dreamed of.
The 21-year-old winger is spending the season out on loan from Elland Road at Ewood Park.
Poveda has played seven times for Rovers so far this season in the Championship and arguably had his finest performance over the weekend against the Blades.

The loanee got on the scoresheet and also notched an assist in a 3-1 victory.
And the winger admits it was a great day both personally and collectively for Rovers, particularly after a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of Fulham last week.
“It was a very special day for me, very emotional,” he told RoversTV.
“To score, assist and get Man of the Match, it’s a moment that I dreamed of the night before, thankfully it came true.
“The team was outstanding against a great side. The lads did amazing to bounce back from the midweek defeat to Fulham.
“We stuck at it, the manager had faith in us and was driving us on.
“I saw Bezza [Brereton Diaz] dribbling with the ball, my calves were feeling tight, but I knew I had to get around him and be an option,” he added when reflecting on his goal.
“Shooting low and hard, the ‘keeper parried it and I managed to slot the rebound in.
“There were crazy scenes after that and it was great for our amazing fans as well.
“It was an unforgettable feeling.
“We got our heads down, got on with it and the three points are for the fans.”
