Jenny Newby and Lee Riley are two of Gogglebox’s favourite cast members.
The pair, who have been friends for 22 years, joined the Channel 4 show in 2014 and every week during filming entertain fans from the living room of Lee’s caravan.
This weekend the best pals were forced to issue a statement about their career on the series after a slip-up from BBC radio presenter and DJ Jo Whiley.

Rumours began circulating on social media after Whiley, 56, claimed the Gogglebox mainstays were leaving the show after seven years.
A fan wrote: “Firstly, Chris Martin of @coldplay has just said on @jowhiley on @BBCRadio2 in concert that you guys are his fave on #Gogglebox.
“However, Jo then said you guys were leaving?? What the??!”
Jenny and Lee’s official account issued a denial, saying: “Well Jo is totally wrong”.
Radio 2 host Whiley issued an apology, tweeting: “I am SOOOO sorry!!! I completely thought I’d read you were leaving, I’m sure I did! Maybe I dreamt it,”
Whiley added that she was “really happy to hear” they were staying.
It is the second time in recent months Jenny and Lee were forced to shut down exit rumours after they missed an episode in October.
The best friends were in Cyprus celebrating Lee’s partner Steve’s birthday.
The pair are among the most popular stars on the show, alongside Pete and Sophie Sandiford from Blackpool and the Malone family.
