A large group of teenagers in Rossendale were broke up after they were found with large amounts of alcohol.
Schoolchildren who left school earlier for ‘study leave’ ahead of their GCSE exams were caught with bottles of alcohol. A party of 75 teens at Marl Pits was also broken up before 6pm tonight (May 13).
Officers found and disposed of a very large amount of alcohol off the 16 year olds. The teenagers were found to not only be intoxicated but were caught making a mess on the football pitch.

A spokesperson for Rossendale Police said: “Parents! Do you know where your children are tonight? We are aware that several year 11 year groups have broken up today for study leave prior to exams. Prior to 6pm tonight already we have seized and disposed of a very large amount of alcohol off 16 year olds. This group numbered up to 75 young people at Marl Pits.
“We don’t want to spoil peoples fun, but many of these young people are already clearly intoxicated and the mess they were creating on a football pitch that is probably being used in the morning is nothing short of shocking, some of the more sensible one’s there have begun clearing some of empty alcohol containers and bottles into the bin that is situated adjacent to the pitches.”
