Burnley’s Premier League survival hopes were dealt a significant blow as they slumped to defeat to Aston Villa at Turf Moor.
The Clarets trailed early when Danny Ings netted his fourth goal in as many games against his former club and Emi Buendia doubled the lead with a deflected shot after poor Burnley defending. Mike Jackson’s side had their chances in the first half with Dwight McNeil wasting the best of them but they lost James Tarkowski to injury early in the second half and Ollie Watkins’ header made the game safe.
