November was a busy month for courts dealing with Lancashire criminals.
Here at LancsLive, we like to round up who has faced justice throughout the month to showcase why you really shouldn’t embark on paths taken by those mentioned.
This month, there was a focus on obscene motorists pulling ridiculous manoeuvres on our roads, including a handbrake turn at 80mph. We also shone a light on the vile individuals who prey on young children for sinister means.

Car thief in a Kia thought it was good idea to pull 80mph handbrake turn on M62
A car thief who did an 80mph handbrake turn in the fast lane of the M62 has been jailed.
Corey Storey, 19, stole the Kia from the car park of Bamber Bridge Football Club to drive home to Doncaster after a visit to Preston on May 8, 2022. Preston Crown Court heard the car’s owner had left the engine running when he got out to chat to a friend.
The court heard Story, of Central Avenue, Shipley, has 21 convictions for 65 offences, including many previous motoring convictions. On February 10, 2023, while on bail for the previous offence, he stole an Audi A1 from a petrol station forecourt in Barnsley while the owner paid for her fuel.
Storey pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking and theft of a motor vehicle. He told a probation officer he had been visiting friends in Preston when he stole the Kia. However he had fallen out with them and needed a way to get home.
He said he stolen the Audi after being stranded at a motorway service station. He wanted a cigarette and was “out of his mind”, he said.

From sunloungers in the Ibiza sun, they orchestrated misery on our streets
A huge gang operating out of Lancashire who trafficked £1.4m of Class A Drugs across the UK hired camper vans to blend in with tourists and hid cocaine in a McDonald’s bag in a bid to deceive police.
The 21 men and women tried to look like ordinary holidaymakers and also used ‘spoofer’ phones until their elaborate criminal network was uncovered. The “Burns OCG” trafficked cocaine and heroin using 40 supply phone lines over 20 months between 2021 and 2022 and some key gang members even left the UK to run the operation from Ibiza during the summer months while using sophisticated techniques to mask their activity.
Most of the organised crime gang were family and friends and operated out of Lancashire, Liverpool, Cheshire and London. The drugs were distributed to Exeter, Exmouth, Torbay and South Devon, North Devon and Cornwall and the operation was uncovered after police obtained a phone which showed links to drug lines operating from Liverpool.

Former soldier turned drug dealer avoids jail due to ‘exceptional’ circumstances
A dad-of-two who turned to drug dealing after being left traumatised by his experiences in war zones has been spared jail due to his “exceptional” circumstances.
Paul Barrett, from Scarisbrick, was left suffering from PTSD after serving in Afghanistan. The 36-year-old, who has recently found well-paid work with Network Rail, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court yesterday (November 27) after previously pleading guilty to two counts of being concerned with the supply of cocaine and ketamine, possession with intent to supply cocaine, and possession of a class B drug.
Defence barrister Kevin Slack described Barrett’s circumstances as “highly unusual” and urged the judge to lower his sentence to two years, allowing it to be suspended, the ECHO reports. He said: “I invite the court to conclude the defendant is a low risk of future offending. He is neither a risk nor a danger to the public.”

He murdered his neighbour, hid body across two counties, then got a new hairstyle
A Blackpool man has admitted murdering his neighbour and hiding his dismembered body parts across Lancashire and Cumbria. William Wilkinson, 65, killed Eddie Forrester on September 1, 2023, before hiding his body parts in the days that followed.
